Kitchen Garden News

The students alongside Mrs Bhaskaran and Miss Matthews have been learning how best to remove weeds, how the soil and water affects how the plants grow and the spacing needed for the plants to grow.  Students were eager to watch the plants sprout that we propagated from seeds and learn how to use a larger plant to cultivate more plants.  We have now established a herb garden and would like to thank Mazzegas for their support and partnership to help make this project a reality.

Compost

This term our target is to get year 3-6 students to start composting.  We have two bins that have been placed in the new and old undercover area.  Teachers on duty in these area could you please encourage students to put their food scraps into the compost bins.  As of next week we will have a member of the garden club collect the bins each day, sort out the accidental rubbish, then place the food scraps in our garden compost bins.
